This may include:

- homework answers;
- documents;
- images;
- audio or voice answers;

These materials are not intended to be publicly accessible.
Files may be validated and scanned for malicious content before being accepted or delivered.
Messages sent through Mentoryn may be retained as part of the tutoring, safety, support, or dispute record.
5.Live Online Lessons
Mentoryn provides live online classroom functionality through third-party communications infrastructure.
When you participate in a live lesson, information necessary to establish and operate the session may be processed, including:
- participant identifiers;
- display names;
- lesson or room identifiers;
- connection information;
- device and browser information;
- session timing;
- attendance information; and
- live audio and video.
Live audio and video may pass through third-party communications infrastructure while the lesson is taking place.

We may retain operational information about the lesson, such as:
- participants;
- lesson date and time;
- duration;
- attendance; and
- lesson status.
If Mentoryn introduces lesson recording or transcription in the future, we will provide appropriate notice, update our privacy disclosures, and obtain any permissions or consent required before enabling the feature.
6.Payments, Subscriptions, and Stripe
Mentoryn uses Stripe to process payments, recurring subscriptions, and tutor payouts.
Payment-card information is entered through Stripe-provided payment technology and is processed by Stripe.
Mentoryn does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes on its servers.
Tutor bank and payout information may also be provided directly to Stripe through Stripe-hosted onboarding.
Mentoryn may receive and retain limited payment-related information needed to operate the Platform, such as:
- Stripe customer identifiers;
- payment-method identifiers;
- subscription identifiers;
- payment or invoice identifiers;
- connected-account identifiers;
- transaction amounts;
- currency;
- payment status;
- subscription status;
- card brand;
- last four digits of a payment card;
- card expiration information where provided;
- refunds;
- disputes;
- chargebacks; and

Stripe processes information according to its own privacy practices and legal obligations.
7.Google Sign-In and Google Calendar
Mentoryn may allow users to connect certain Google services.
Google Sign-In
If you choose to use Google to sign in or connect your account, Google may provide information authorized through the applicable sign-in process.
Google Calendar
Tutors may connect Google Calendar to help manage availability and scheduling.
When a calendar is connected, Mentoryn may process information such as:
- calendar identifiers;
- calendar names;
- event titles;
- event start and end times;
- availability or busy periods;
- certain attendee-response information;
- Google account information; and
- authorization credentials necessary to maintain the connection.
Mentoryn may also create Mentoryn lesson events in a connected calendar.
Calendar-event information used to determine availability is read from Google as needed and is not intended to be permanently copied into Mentoryn’s database as imported calendar events.
Mentoryn stores information necessary to maintain the calendar connection, including protected authorization credentials and related identifiers.
Users can disconnect their Google Calendar through the available Platform controls. An explicit disconnect revokes Mentoryn’s Google access and removes the stored connection.
Google processes information according to its own privacy practices.

- notifications that a parent created a learner may include the learner’s first name and grade band; and
- Contact Us notifications may include a submission reference, sender name, topic, subject, and whether an attachment was submitted.
For Contact Us notifications, Mentoryn does not send the support-message body, sender’s email address, raw attachment, or attachment storage location through Telegram.

- IP address;

Some information may be processed temporarily for purposes such as rate limiting, fraud prevention, security, troubleshooting, and abuse detection.
Additional security-event information may be retained when a particular security or learner-access feature requires it.
13.How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:

Where permitted, we may also use aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
15.Hosting and Data Location
Mentoryn’s production application, database, and uploaded-file infrastructure are currently hosted using Amazon Web Services in the United States.
Some third-party service providers may process information in other locations according to their infrastructure and privacy practices.
If you access Mentoryn from outside the United States, your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
16.Public Information
Certain information is intended to be publicly visible through Mentoryn.
For example, a tutor’s public profile may display information such as:
- name;
- profile photo;
- introduction video;
- biography;
- subjects;
- languages;
- qualifications;
- experience;
- lesson pricing; and
- other information the tutor provides for their public profile.
Reviews may also be displayed publicly. Where applicable, Mentoryn may identify a review using limited attribution such as the reviewer’s first name and last initial rather than displaying the learner’s identity.
Users should not include sensitive personal information in content intended to be publicly displayed.
17.Children’s Privacy and Parent or Guardian Controls
Mentoryn is designed to support families, including learners who are minors.
Parent-Managed Learner Profiles
A parent or legal guardian creates and manages learner profiles for minors.
For learner profiles, Mentoryn uses an age group selected by the parent or guardian. The available age groups are Under 13, 13–17, and 18 or older. Mentoryn uses the selected age group to determine which privacy and permission rules apply.
If a learner’s age group has not been provided, new lessons cannot be booked until the parent or guardian selects an age group.
Learners Under 13 — Guardian Permission
When a learner is identified as under 13, the Primary Guardian reviews the Mentoryn permission notice and explicitly gives permission for Mentoryn to use the learner’s information to operate the Platform and facilitate tutoring services provided by independent tutors.
Mentoryn does not require or collect government-issued identification or identity documents as part of this permission process.
Before permission is given, new lessons cannot be booked for the learner.
The permission record may include information such as:
- learner identifier;
- guardian identifier;
- permission status;
- date and time permission was given or withdrawn; and
- version of the applicable permission notice.
Parent and Guardian Choices
A parent or legal guardian may contact Mentoryn to:
- review information associated with their learner;
- correct learner information;
- ask questions about how learner information is used;
- withdraw the applicable permission;
- restrict future learner activity; or
- request deletion of learner information where applicable.
The Primary Guardian may withdraw permission at any time.
When permission is withdrawn, no new lessons can be booked for that learner by either the parent or guardian or a tutor. Lessons that have already been booked are not automatically cancelled.
Withdrawal of permission does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every historical record. Certain information may need to be retained for payment, fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, legal, or other legitimate purposes.
A separate deletion request may be submitted to support@mentoryn.com.
Mentoryn does not require a child to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to use the applicable feature.
18.Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate operational, safety, financial, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes.
The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information.
Factors may include:
- whether the account remains active;
- the parent-learner relationship;
- tutoring and lesson history;
- child-safety considerations;
- payment and accounting obligations;
- fraud prevention;
- disputes or chargebacks;
- support requests;
- security requirements;
- applicable laws; and
- statutes of limitation.
We do not intend to retain personal information indefinitely when it is no longer reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Children’s personal information subject to applicable children’s privacy requirements will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to lawful retention requirements.
Information that is no longer needed may be deleted, anonymized, or de-identified, depending on the nature of the information and applicable obligations.
19.Closing an Account and Deletion Requests
Closing a Mentoryn account disables access and stops account activity.
Closing an account does not necessarily erase all information immediately.
Some information may be retained after account closure for purposes such as:
- processing or documenting transactions;
- accounting and tax requirements;
- fraud prevention;
- payment disputes and chargebacks;
- child safety;
- investigating abuse or misconduct;
- enforcing agreements;
- resolving disputes; and
- complying with legal obligations.
You may request deletion of personal information by contacting support@mentoryn.com.
Privacy and deletion requests are currently handled by the Mentoryn team rather than through an automated data-deletion tool.
We may need to confirm that the person making a deletion request is the account holder or is otherwise authorized to make the request.
Where deletion is appropriate, information may be deleted or de-identified from active systems while certain information remains where retention is permitted or required.
Information may also remain for a limited period in backups until those backups expire or are overwritten according to applicable backup-retention procedures.
Payment providers and other independent service providers may retain transaction records according to their own legal and regulatory obligations.
20.Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These rights may include the ability to:
- request access to personal information;

- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable; and
- appeal certain privacy-request decisions where applicable.
Not every right applies in every jurisdiction or circumstance.
Mentoryn may need to confirm that a request comes from you or from someone authorized to act on your behalf before completing it.
Parents and guardians may submit appropriate requests concerning learners they are authorized to manage.
Mentoryn does not currently provide an automated “download my data” tool. Privacy requests that cannot be completed through account settings are handled through Mentoryn Support.
To make a request, contact support@mentoryn.com.
21.California Privacy Rights
If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”), applies to Mentoryn and your personal information, California residents may have rights that include:
- the right to know certain information about personal-information practices;
- the right to request access to certain personal information;
- the right to request correction;
- the right to request deletion, subject to applicable exceptions;
- the right to opt out of covered sale or sharing practices;
- certain rights relating to sensitive personal information; and
- the right not to receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Mentoryn does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for third-party targeted behavioral advertising.
Requests may be submitted to support@mentoryn.com.
22.International Users
Mentoryn is operated from the United States.
If you use Mentoryn from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
Privacy laws and government-access rules may differ between jurisdictions.
If laws such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or United Kingdom GDPR apply to a particular Mentoryn processing activity, individuals may have additional rights under those laws.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to claim that every privacy law applies to every Mentoryn user or processing activity.
23.Security
Mentoryn uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Current application-level safeguards include measures such as:
- bcrypt password hashing;
- HTTPS access to the public Platform;
- authentication and authorization controls;
- role-based access restrictions;
- limited tutor access to learner information;
- protected Google authorization credentials;
- private file storage;
- authenticated file delivery;
- file-type and content validation;
- malware scanning;
- image and PDF validation where applicable;
- security and abuse rate limiting; and
- logging and monitoring used to maintain Platform security.
Mentoryn does not store account passwords in plain text.
Sensitive payment-card and tutor bank-account information is handled directly by Stripe rather than being stored on Mentoryn’s application servers.
No internet service, transmission method, or data-storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should not share passwords or other authentication information.
24.Third-Party Services and Links
Mentoryn may contain links to or integrations with services operated by third parties.
Examples include:
- Stripe;
- Google;
- live communications infrastructure providers; and
- other services users may choose to access in connection with tutoring.
Third-party services may collect and process information independently according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Mentoryn does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.
25.Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Mentoryn’s services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements change.
The Last updated date at the top of the Privacy Policy will indicate when the policy was most recently revised.
Where appropriate or required by law, we may provide additional notice of material changes through:
- the Platform;
- email; or
- another reasonable method.
If applicable law requires consent for a particular new use of personal information, we will obtain the required consent before that use begins.
