Every new tutor comes with a free 25-minute trial, so you can meet them before deciding whether to continue. One trial per tutor, per learner.
The trial is free when attended. A card is required to reserve your time. Late-cancellation or no-show fees may apply.
Three ways to pay for lessons.
Whichever you choose, the price per lesson is the tutor’s price for that length — the same number on the booking screen and on your receipt.
Single lesson
Pick a time on the tutor’s calendar and pay for that one lesson when you book it. Good for a one-off question or a first regular lesson after the trial.
Lesson balance
Add money for a tutor once and use it for any lesson length with that tutor. Your balance never expires and is yours to spend on any learner in your family.
Weekly plan
Set the weekly times you want and the plan funds them: a fixed amount that renews every 28 days. Stop it from renewing at any time — lessons already paid for stay booked.
Changing or cancelling a lesson
Move or cancel any lesson up to 12 hours before it starts and the money goes back to your balance. Inside that window a paid lesson can no longer be moved or cancelled. If a tutor cancels, you are always refunded to your balance, whenever it happens.
Cards, receipts and history.
- Pay by card. Card details are handled by Stripe, our payment processor — Mentoryn never sees your card number.
- Every payment, refund and trial fee is listed under Payments in your account, per learner.
- Children never pay. Parents hold the card, the balance and the plans for every learner in the family.
- Prices are in US dollars.

- Set your own price for each lesson length — 25, 50 or 80 minutes — and change it whenever you like for new bookings.
- Mentoryn takes a share of each lesson to run the classroom, payments, scheduling and support. The exact split is shown when you set your prices.
- No fee to apply or to list your profile. Earnings and payouts are shown in your tutor account.
