Assigning homework
Work between lessons is where most progress happens. Assignments keep it attached to the lesson.
How
- Open the student and add an assignment.
- Say clearly what to do and by when.
- Review what comes back before the next lesson.
What works
- Short and specific beats long and vague
- Ask them to attempt it even if they get stuck — where it breaks is the lesson
- Tie it to what you just taught, not what you plan to teach
For K–12 learners, a parent may also see the work you assign in their parent account.
