Darien Cavanaugh

Hello!

My name is Darien, and I am a native-English speaker from the United States. I have a BA in English (American and British Literatures), an MA in English (Writing), and a 120-hour TEFL certificate.

I've been teaching English for nearly 20 years, and I like to incorporate shared interests into my teaching materials to make our lessons more interesting for both of us. Some of my hobbies and interests include travel, literature, film, history, philosophy, sports, poker, chess, and food. I also enjoy talking about science and technology. Unfortunately, I'm not very knowledgeable on those two subjects, so you'd probably have to explain a lot of things to me.....but describing and explaining things can be an excellent way of improving your English!

I am happy to teach students of any age and skill level, but I specialize in teaching test-prep, business and professional communication, and advanced speaking, reading, and writing courses.
