Alima Wilson

I am an experienced educator with several years of experience working with students across charter schools, public schools, and independent schools. Throughout my career, I have supported students in a variety of roles, including substitute teacher, associate teacher, coverage teacher, and teacher assistant. These experiences have allowed me to work with diverse groups of learners, support classroom instruction, and adapt to the individual needs of students.

In addition to my in-person school experience, I have worked as a virtual tutor, providing ELA instruction and academic support to students. I provided ELA test preparation to students in New York City and have also tutored K–8 students nationwide in ELA.

My teaching style is student-centered, supportive, and adaptable. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, respected, and encouraged to participate. I take time to understand each student's individual learning needs and adjust my approach accordingly. I enjoy seeing students become better versions of themselves after they have understood a topic.
